Been a rocky beginning so far. I definitely want more sugar than I'm allowing, and looking for ways to justify it. I resisted cookies pretty easily at the store, which was cool. I did end up eating an excessive amount of fruit today, though. I even felt a sudden urge to cook a banana into tonight's dinner.
Sugar, I wish I knew how to quit you.
I didn't do yoga yesterday, but I did clean my house for over seven hours. I consider that enough of a workout. I didn't do yoga today either... but to be fair, the day is not yet over and I am now inspired to do a short routine before bed. It'll probably put me in a good state of mind for sleep.
It's no surprise that I don't eat out of boredom when I keep myself occupied with something else. I get lost in a project, or singing, or some such enjoyment and I don't think about eating. The problem is that I'm in a bad habit of not doing any of those activities that I enjoy. I'm still in a mindset that I am making a life change that take priority over enjoyable activities for a while. But for me, I need to make time to do things that make me happy every day. Singing makes me happy, so I make sure to sing every day. As does playing video games, and eating healthy. If I make those things a priority in my life again, then they will return to being just part of my daily routine.
I had a routine down for a long time, and I felt pretty solid on it. Then we decided to move, and the entire summer vanished. I re-adopted a lot of bad eating habits and justified a higher intake of sugar. I didn't have the brain power left to commit it to willpower. But now the new chapter has begun and I can resume my old good habits in a new setting.
My routine went something like this:
7-8 Wake Up
8-10 Breakfast, Yoga, Bathe
10-12 Work
12-2 Lunch, Time with Dogs
2-3 Nap
3-6 Work
6-8 Dinner, Time with Hubs
8-10 Recess/Work
10-7 Night Prep, Sleep
I am self employed, so my day to day is never followed this strictly. Instead I would loosely try to get to each of these things at some point throughout the day. Often sacrifices must be made, and so if I'm super busy and it's not possible for me to take a nap, I'll be sure to prep some coffee to get me through the day. Or, if I work an evening, I may shift it so I take a recess right after yoga, knowing I'll be needing the energy and brainpower later in the evening. Some nights I stay up late and sacrifice sleep, and some days I just get a wild hair up me bum to spend an entire day cleaning. I sacrificed a lot that day - but gained a cleaner house and some decent cardio. Lots of stairs. Gonna have quads for days!
Well, I'm off for some yoga! Have a great week, all. <3
